About This Role:

ContainerPort Group, a World Group company, is currently looking for a dedicated, driven person to join our family as a Logistics Pricing and Procurement Manager to join our growing corporate headquarters in Rocky River, Ohio!

The Logistics Pricing and Procurement Manager will be responsible for and managing internal and external rate requests, conducting profitability analysis, maintaining pricing data, increasing active partner carriers, evaluating carrier performance, collaborating with other divisions, and managing analytics projects by leading a team of Logistics Pricing and Procurement of Analysts and Carrier Services team members. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Logistics Pricing and Procurement Analysts.
  • Lead and manage Carrier Services Team.
  • Meet active partner carrier on-boarding goals.
  • Manage all rate requests by prioritizing based on urgency and value.
  • Procure rates from carriers, conduct rate comparisons, and establish profitable sell rates for all new rate requests/RFPs.
  • Quickly respond to all pricing inquiries.
  • Analyze rate data, reporting of trends and carrier performance data to uncover areas of improvement.
  • Collaborate with key company stakeholders on new opportunities and the health of current accounts, identifying root cause and implementing solutions when necessary.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers to increase lane margins.
  • Oversee master database for buy and sell rates for the Capacity Solutions division.
  • Oversee partner carrier master database.
  • Conduct analytics projects including pulling, manipulating, and reporting data from creation of project to design and execution.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost savings within the pricing and procurement function.
  • Assist with other carrier management tasks as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics Management, Business Administration, or similar (or 2 years of applicable job experience)
  • Demonstrated experience in pricing, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent with numbers
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
