Position Summary: The Quality Control Lead will report to the CAM Site Manager and functionally to the CAM Senior Director, Quality. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the quality program on-site, ensuring compliance with CAM's Quality Control (QC) Manual, client specifications, and applicable ASME & National Board Codes. The QC Lead will manage nonconformances, corrective actions, and track/report quality KPIs, ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Primary Responsibilities: - Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with the CAM QC Manual, project specifications, and relevant industry codes.
- Manage QC activities, including overseeing multiple work areas and QC personnel based on workload.
- Recruit and mentor QC Inspectors, as needed.
- Develop and implement Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) based on project scope.
- Assess welding requirements and determine necessary welding procedures.
- Identify welder qualification needs and coordinate testing as required.
- Train QC personnel and ensure understanding of their roles, CAM QC Manual, and site-specific requirements.
- Perform field inspections, including Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) as required.
- Plan and coordinate with NDE and Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) sub-contractors, reviewing their reports.
- Act as the liaison with Client QA and the Authorized Inspector (AI).
- Identify, generate, track, and close out Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Maintain QC project files, including turnover packages to clients and archive records.
- Provide QC-related training for personnel, supervision, and craft employees.
- Attend site meetings and conduct internal QC meetings as needed.
- Support all QC functions and perform other duties as required.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with client business and execution teams, providing technical expertise and proactive solutions.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance quality, productivity, and cost savings.
- Maintain an excellent professional relationship with the client, ensuring their expectations are met or exceeded.
- Address and resolve client concerns promptly, providing timely and appropriate feedback.
Qualifications: - Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Minimum of 2+ years of field QA/QC experience.
- Previous QA/QC Lead experience is an asset.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ASNT Level II Visual Inspection (VT) required.
- ASNT Level II Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) certification is an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of construction disciplines, including Structural, Piping, Mechanical, and Welding.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to coach and mentor personnel at all levels on quality requirements.
