Position Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of all phases of a project or multiple projects. This role involves strategic planning, leadership, and oversight to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager will direct, supervise, and control all technical, financial, and administrative functions related to contractual activities, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client expectations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead the execution and planning of Maintenance and Turnaround (M& T) projects/programs that are crucial to the company's objectives, potentially requiring travel or work from client sites.
  • Enforce adherence to the Maintenance Work Process across all stakeholders, ensuring projects meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as the Safety Leader for projects, championing the "CAM Core" culture and safety standards.
  • Define project scope, schedule activities, and manage engineering procurement budgets to ensure alignment with client expectations and contractual requirements.
  • Serve as the primary leader for site project controls, ensuring proper tracking and execution of project milestones.
  • Work closely with project managers, design engineers, procurement teams, planners, and schedulers to prioritize tasks and maintain project timelines and budgets.
  • Provide direction and support to Site Managers and Project Superintendents, offering insights to optimize project execution.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and refinement of functional operations, control processes, and best practices.
  • Review and approve preliminary project estimates and schedules, participating in engineering, construction, and management review meetings. Monitor and control field expenses.
  • Assist in proposal preparation and project planning by leveraging expertise in construction methods, equipment use, labor productivity, and cost estimation.
  • Optimize the use of personnel, materials, and financial resources to meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Make informed, responsible decisions to ensure projects align with company objectives while maintaining financial discipline.
  • Proactively lead and manage internal and external change processes to achieve successful outcomes for both CAM and its clients.
  • Provide regular updates on project cost, schedule, scope, and quality in a clear, client-focused manner.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, contributing to high-level presentations and executive communications.
  • Implement work instructions and uphold CAM's standard operating procedures to drive efficiency and consistency.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to expand CAM's client portfolio and support ongoing business development initiatives.
  • Actively participate in project assessments and audits, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring best practices are upheld.

Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience managing and leading turnaround projects, including oversight of teams ranging from 40 to 200 skilled craft workers.
  • Minimum of 10 years managing complex heavy industrial projects, with a strong focus on the power, oil & gas, and petrochemical sectors.
  • A recognized degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline, or specialized coursework in construction management, supplemented by extensive hands-on experience demonstrating deep industry knowledge.
  • Background in Field Services, Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC), or Major Projects is highly valued.
  • In-depth understanding of all phases of construction, including field operations, engineering disciplines, construction technologies, and project management principles.
  • Proficient in applying CAM Standards, procedures, and industry best practices to ensure successful project execution and regulatory adherence.
