Description:

Our company is seeking a motivated, dedicated, and confident individual to join our team as a Merchandise Planner. American Freight has over 365 stores throughout the United States and we are growing. We work directly with manufacturers to ensure our customers receive quality products for a great price. The Merchandise Planner is an individual contributor responsible for planning and controlling the inventory of product to increase sales and maximize profits. The Merchandise Planner will also be a liaison between merchandising, allocation, logistics and other cross functional partners. They will utilize several business applications including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Relex, MicroStrategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create sales and margin departmental budgets
  • Develop pre-season and manage in-season plans on a weekly, monthly, quarterly basis
  • Assist in communicating comprehensive product and financial strategies
  • Ensure inventory plans are executed to meet the required sales goals
  • Assist merchants with pricing strategies to meet financial goals
  • Develop effective strategic plans to liquidate products in a profitable way
  • Support and execute testing strategies, category specific initiatives and ad-hoc analysis
  • Demonstrate analytical curiosity and socialize thoughts to drive action
  • Work collaboratively across multiple functions and departments within the organization
  • Maintain communication with vendors to ensure timely delivery of the goods and minimize vendor shortages
  • Maintain records and update them to support the business requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-6 years of inventory management and/or store analysis experience
  • Experience in high volume, fast paced, retail environment or equivalent
  • Strong technical and analytical skills – ability to analyze and understand data
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and interact collaboratively
  • Work with multiple partners to resolve exceptions and collaborate on best alternatives
  • Team player; foster a commitment to teamwork among other associates
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Quick learner; ability to apply new software technology. Systems used: Microsoft Office, Relex, MicroStrategy

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, American Freight provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and cultural fit. The range of starting pay for this role is $100, 000 to $120, 000 per year.
