JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Manufacturing Operations will be directly responsible for oversight of the execution and performance of Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, Operational Excellence and Supply Chain teams at the Vandalia, Ohio site. The Senior Director will work in close partnership with Quality, R& D, and Technical Services to develop a comprehensive approach to manufacturing with the highest quality and compliance standards. This leader is also expected to continuously identify and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives via partnership with the Operational Excellence team, lead Vandalia Manufacturing Operations, and meet objectives for service, quality, on time delivery, and regulatory compliance. Equally important, there is an expectation to focus on people development by effective management of performance evaluations and goal setting, ensuring cross-training, and mentorship.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

  • Provides overall leadership to the Manufacturing. Engineering, Maintenance, Operational Excellence and Supply Chain Teams with responsibility for: strategy development and implementation; operating plans and budgets, including P& L ownership for teh above departments
  • Value generation initiatives; policies, procedures, and systems; recruiting, staffing, and leadership development; and reporting/communications with business units and senior management.
  • Demonstrates exemplary leadership skills while interacting with other members of the Site Leadership team; work with Site Leadership to create an effective culture focused on producing the highest quality products delivered on time to all of our customers.
  • Develop relevant KPI’s, goals, and objectives for the enhancement in an effort to provide continuous improvement and support of the company objectives
  • Provide routine reports on KPI metrics for the manufacturing plant such as, on time delivery, capacities, quality, and costs.
  • Track record of year-over-year delivery of distinctive value from manufacturing operations activities.
  • Oversee Project Engineering teams to ensure operating compliance with all budgeted spend on an annual and LBE basis, and manages relevant Capital spending within budget.
  • Support and ensure compliance of the Manufacturing site with all relevant Adare, FDA, cGMP regulations, DEA, local governmental guidelines, and policies.
  • Compile, track, and analyze Manufacturing Operations budgets, products, capacities, Lean projects and spend to enable informed decision-making and drive discussions with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure ERP, WHMS system data integrity through appropriate internal controls.
  • Partner with Corporate Supply Chain, Business Development team to ensure timely stock and customer delivery of product
  • At times, partner with Commercial to assess external market trends and conditions to identify opportunities and risks in manufacturing environment; participate with Business Development to promote the business technology platforms with current and potential partners
  • Leverage business intelligence to assist the business in planning for key strategic decisions, e.g., new product economics or anticipated CAPEX costs/lead times.
  • Participation with local and national events, educational institutions, communities, and portfolio companies to ensure best practices within the manufacturing team.



REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years Manufacturing Operations experience in a leading teams, including areas of focus such as capsules, tablets, and packaging.
  • Experience with ERP, LIMS, WHMS, and spend analytics systems
  • Comprehensive experience formulating and executing business unit strategies.
  • Experience in budgeting and leading annual business planning processes, as well as P& L ownership experience and management reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, manage, and develop top talent; a natural mentor.
  • Expert understanding of manufacturing and quality policies, procedures, practices, and the value and use of ERP systems.
  • Extensive knowledge and awareness of fluctuating market conditions and resultant impacts to the business.
  • Ability to utilize expert industry knowledge and advanced business models to develop optimal business relationships.
  • A change agent possessing the strategic, analytical and teamwork skills needed to drive major commercial decisions across a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing internal customers; skilled at institutionalizing stakeholder communications for input and alignment; well-honed “radar” for stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
  • Extensive knowledge of risk-management strategies. Expert-level financial, quantitative, and analytical skills.
  • A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate him/herself and others.
