We are seeking to hire a Project Engineer to join our Engineering Department

JOB SUMMARY

The Project Engineer will be a key member of the Engineering team and will apply engineering, technical, and project management principles to all aspects of the facility, systems, and equipment design to ensure efficient and compliant operation in accordance with SOPs and cGMPs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

  • Manage all aspects of capital projects, as required, from conception to completion, including system optimization, budget definition, documentation, scheduling, and contractors management.
  • Provide technical support, system/equipment troubleshooting and oversight when required to the Facilities, Maintenance and Engineering Departments; may include providing direction to department staff, outside contractors
  • Analyze product or equipment specifications, as well as performance requirements to determine designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
  • Analyze engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to industrial machinery and equipment design.
  • Update the master P& ID drawings to ensure all drawings are current and follow proper change authorization.
  • Assist Sr Project Engineer and Engineering Management with administering site Process Safety Management Systems (PSM) program including participating in PHA, PSSR.
  • Determine feasibility of designing new plant equipment (i.e. HVAC) or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.
  • Provide technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning.
  • Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment.
  • Study publications to keep abreast of technical changes and developments in industry.
  • Participate and successfully complete all training as required by the company.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with SOPs, cGMPs, OSHA, and company safety policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (chemical or mechanical preferred) and 5+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Prior pharmaceutical industry experience is a preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD. Knowledge of Project Management software (MS Project or Other) and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Knowledge of Automation/Control Software a plus.
  • Excellent reading, analyzing, and interpretation skills for using common scientific, and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to take initiative to complete assignments and job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Effectively communicate with Managers, Directors, Executives and Operation team members
  • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
