Description:

Responsible for establishing, promoting, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment within an organization. This involves developing, implementing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses.

Essential Functions
  • Policy and Program Development: Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This includes planning health and safety programs and protocols.
  • Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions, thereby ensuring the workplace meets safety standards. This may involve monitoring compliance with safety measures and reviewing existing policies and procedures for both warehouse and project site operations.
  • Safety Training: Organize and conduct safety training programs for employees, including new hire onboarding and emergency response drills, to educate them on safety protocols and procedures.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions to identify root causes and implement preventive measures, as well as prepare reports for management.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate safety records, including incident reports, training documentation, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), ensuring accuracy and compliance. They also prepare reports on accidents, violations, and safety performance metrics for management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and other applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with managers, supervisors, and other departments to develop and update safety protocols, address safety concerns, and promote a proactive safety culture.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Current and valid US driver's license preferred
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test

Minimum Skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards (especially OSHA)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Leadership and the ability to influence a safety-conscious culture
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this role, the employee will regularly communicate verbally and in writing, and must be able to see and hear in a typical office setting. The role frequently involves sitting, walking, standing, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with arms and hands.

Work Environment
This position operates primarily in a professional office environment. It routinely involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, and filing systems. Occasional business travel may be required.
