Description:

Overview

The Service Manager oversees the daily operations of a heavy-duty truck and coach repair facility, ensuring efficient service delivery and strict adherence to company safety policies and procedures. This role leads a team of technicians and administrative staff, driving performance to meet monthly profit objectives.

Salary Range:

$90, 000 - 120, 000 Annually

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise maintenance and repair activities.
  • Ensure timely and quality service for trucks, coaches and power generation customers.
  • Recruit, train, and manage service technicians and support staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and concerns regarding quality of work and customer satisfaction.
  • Enforce DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and facility inspections.
  • Monitor labor and parts costs to ensure profitability.
  • Communicate job status, description, and cost to customers; send repair estimates for approval.
  • Create final customer invoice with complete explanation and charges for work performed, and review invoice with customer.


Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and power generation highly desirable.
  • Good customer service, communication, telephone and organization skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.


Education & Experience

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role in heavy-duty truck or coach service industry.

Computer Skills:

Basic computer navigation skills required. Experience with Adobe and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with Oracle highly desirable.
