Forklift Operator / Material Handler - PPS 26-15 Position includes Health & Welfare Benefits at $5.55 per hour which is adjusted for benefits selected with the difference paid to the employee. Purpose of Position: At West Point, Forklift Operator/Materias Handler roles involving receiving, storing, and shipping supplies using manual and mechanized equipment. Duties and Responsibilities (Essential): · Receiving, storing, and assembling for issue, shipment, and distribution of bin and bulk supplies, materials, equipment, and commodities. · Moving, stacking, binning, and positioning materials using manual equipment (hand trucks, pallet jacks, dollies) and mechanized equipment (forklifts, platform lifts, automated stock selectors) as assigned. · Organizing and arranging stock in storage areas per established procedures to prevent damage, deterioration, or loss. · Logging receipt, storage, and shipment data and verifying shipping documents for incoming/outgoing shipments. · Assisting in unloading trucks and safely boxing/packing materials for shipment or storage. · Conducting inventories and recommending reorders when stock levels are low. · Follow safety protocols and use PPE; maintain clean, safe work areas · Document work performed, including time, materials, and completion status · Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: · Forklift operator 6k & 10k variants · Ford F650 box trunk up to 26K lbs cargo capacity (or similar variant and size). · Must obtain and maintain a valid state issued driver's license. · Must be able to limit and carry item/equipment/material weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance. · Must be able to lift and carry items/equipment/materials over 50 lbs with assistance. Physical Factors · Must be eligible for site access and CAC if position requires. · Must be physically capable of performing all aspects of the work. · Work is inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lit. · Physical demands: prolonged standing, bending, stooping, lifting/carrying up to 100 pounds, and use of various manual/mechanized equipment. · Eligible and experienced with the operation of government equipment/trucks. · Clean valid unexpired driver's license. · Work around production/operational area. · Must be able to sit, move, reach, bend, etc. as the job requires. · Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing PROJECTXYZ is an equal opportunity employer encouraging individuals with disabilities and veterans to apply.
