Mizuho's Banking Division provides corporate and investment banking coverage, sponsor coverage, advisory and solutions and loan capital markets/syndicate to Mizuho's client base of leading international corporations, financial institutions and public sector entities in the US and Canada.

Banking supports client business activities throughout the region with an extensive range of capital markets and lending capabilities and an integrated team of coverage, advisory and product bankers responsible for client relationship management and strategic transaction development to execute banking and securities mandates and originate idea generation for potential acquisitions, divestitures and investment opportunities.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join our Investment Grade Debt Capital Markets group on the Power, Utility, Infrastructure, and Energy team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on an industry leading team in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, supporting the origination, structuring, and execution of investment grade debt transactions for corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support senior bankers in the execution of debt capital markets transactions, including bond offerings, liability management, and capital structure advisory.
  • Conduct market research and analysis on macroeconomic trends, credit markets, and investor sentiment.
  • Prepare pitch books, client presentations, and transaction materials.
  • Monitor primary and secondary bond markets and provide updates to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Collaborate with syndicate, sales, trading, and credit teams to ensure seamless execution of deals.
  • Maintain databases and track deal flow, pricing benchmarks, and investor demand.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in investment banking, capital markets, or a related financial services role preferred
  • Strong understanding of fixed income products, credit ratings, and financial markets
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Series 79 and 63 licenses preferred


The expected base salary ranges from $110K - $130k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
