About The Team

The Internal Audit Department Americas (IADA) provides internal audit services to the branches, representative offices and agencies of Mizuho Bank, Ltd. in the Americas, and to Mizuho Bank (USA). IADA's mission is to act as an independent, objective assurance and consulting function, designed to add value and improve Mizuho Bank's U.S. operations including the derivatives and broker dealer businesses. Based in the New York Metro area, IADA staff members perform various audits of different business areas of the bank to evaluate the effectiveness of risk management and governance processes. Along with its counterparts in London, Hong Kong and Singapore, IADA reports to and composes the overseas arm of MHBK's Internal Audit Division (IAD).

Global Coordination Group - Function's Coverage Summary

Contribute to IADA's strategic planning and process innovation and assist with audit planning, budgeting and monitoring. Support the Managing Director Global Coordination Group with reporting of audit status, issues, and metrics to relevant stakeholders.

This role is hybrid based in our New York City Office

Job Description

Under the direction of the Managing Director - Head of the Global Coordination Group, conduct various task to support whole IADA as a team.

Prepare various reports including monthly report to Head Office, timesheet report, audit activity status report to the regulator, and communicate to IADA leadership, Head Office, other related external parties.

Assist the Global Coordination Group with issuing final audit reports after the audit work has been completed, and with supporting the issue tracking process via the internal audit workflow tool, including responding to the audit team's and Head Office's requests or inquiries.

Routinely monitor the audit plan completion status and timesheet against the annual plan and report status to relevant stakeholders. (i.e. IADA Leadership, Board, Audit Committee, etc.)

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to audit activities, projects, and assignments against approved targets.

Assist the Global Coordination Group with issuing final audit reports after the audit work has been completed and finalized and the conditions to publish have been met.

Assist the Global Coordination Group with responding to the audit team's and Head Office's requests or inquiries related to the internal audit workflow tool.

Perform other IADA group-wide audit planning and administrative assignments as directed by the Managing Director - Head of Global Coordination Group, including, but not limited to, various arrangement for business trip visitor, management of vendor payment and expense reimbursement, arrangement consultant onboarding, support to Intra-office Inspection, etc..

Core Competencies

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in business, accounting, finance, economics, computer science or management information systems. May also hold an advanced or specialized degree and/or a professional certification (e.g., MBA, CPA, CA, CIA, CISA, CFE) or license relevant to the profession.

Demonstrates a sound understanding of the financial services industry, including audit, financial, risk management, or technology functions.

Has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong relationship building skills with ability to work well within a team-oriented environment.

Demonstrates the capacity for effective project and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize, design and direct multiple tasks/projects and to anticipate and meet required deadlines.

Fluent in Japanese as there will be communication between Home Office.

The expected base salary ranges from $113, 000.00. - $125, 000.00. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
