Job title: Civil Associate

Job Location: 14 Penn Plaza, 225 W. 34 th Street, Suite 1304, New York, NY 10122

Job duties: Assist with design, construction documents, plan production, maps, basic reports and other supporting documentation. Assist with preparing and updating engineering calculations to be used in design reports and final design. Prepare reports detailing conceptual designs or analysis performed, along with results. Assist with the preparation of drawings such as those needed for highway projects. Demonstrate intermediate skills using various CAD and Microsoft Office programs to produce high quality design documents, exhibits, computations and reports. Review shop drawings for conformance with contract plans. Assist or lead in the design of elements of engineering plans or concepts. Assist with quantities and project cost estimates. Communicate with Engineers and/or Project Managers regarding project issues. Coordinate with design technicians to ensure timely and accurate deliverables. Attend internal and external project meetings and participate as necessary. Assist with document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits. Assist with preparation for client and project meetings. Occasionally visits project sites, reporting findings to Engineers and/or Project Managers.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

2 years of experience in Civil Engineering or related. Requires skills and experience to involve:
  • Proficiency in industry-standard CAD design using OpenRoad Bently Connect, MicroStation, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, including those set by NYCDOT, NYSDOT, and AASHTO.
  • Design and planning transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Expertise in development of engineering plans and client coordination, conducted thorough evaluations of design alternatives, and prepared technical reports.

The approximate compensation range for this position is $96, 096 - $132, 000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
