Job Summary

The I& C Technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all process instruments, controls, computers, PLCs, DCS, analyzing and electrical systems of the facility. This equipment includes, but is not limited to the Combustion Turbine Generators, boilers, and auxiliary equipment. Inspect repair, install and remove all types of switches, control equipment, transmitters, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems. Selected candidate must adhere to all company safety & environmental policies and procedures and effectively communicate information to supervision and fellow plant personnel, relative to the condition of the plant equipment and performance, and provide suggestions for plant improvements. Uses facility operating procedures and equipment technical manuals to maintain and repair facility equipment and ensure equipment is operated within operating range.

• Performs troubleshooting and documentation, and assists in the resolution of problems discovered on shift
• Performs daily maintenance, overhauls, calibration, troubleshooting, repair/replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and systems.
• Makes decisions and recommends appropriate repair techniques for plant equipment to peers, supervisors, plant management.
• Conducts excitation system inspections and preventive maintenance
• Proficient in operating material handling equipment
• Develops and implements plant operating procedures
• Understands relationship of equipment to plant systems
• May provide instruction and teaching to lower level employees
• Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE

Required Qualifications:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical requirements include: Working on feet for extensive periods, working from heights, requiring stair and ladder climbing. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some Work with hazardous materials may be required. Availability for call-ins and overtime will be required. Ability to push, pull, or lift minimum of 50 pounds. Walking, standing, bending, and climbing as required. Work environment is a typical power plant environment including heat and cold, indoors and outdoors, dusty conditions, high noise levels, heights and confined spaces.
