Job Overview: This position works with senior management to ensure the strategic implementation of continuous improvement (Six Sigma or Lean) and productivity improvement initiatives. This individual will lead multiple large and complex productivity improvement projects simultaneously. The person can be located in any of the following areas: Tonawanda, NY, Memphis, TN or Mobile, AL. Scope: This position understands business strategies, culture and work processes and uses knowledge to achieve results and execute work beyond the scope of their individual function. Leads projects/events using a variety of productivity tools resulting in significant bottom line improvements. Identify and prioritize productivity projects within the Air Separation (bulk atmospheric gases), CO2 and Standard Plants areas and within the Production, Distribution and Business Value Streams. Communicates compelling need for change. Standardizes best practice problem-solving approaches. Enforces process discipline. Reporting Relationships: This position will report to a productivity manager. This position must influence and lead others without having direct personnel management responsibilities. May act as an internal consultant to senior productivity professionals and their project teams. Primary Responsibilities: - Accountable for Annual Region Cost Savings Target (~ 6% of region cost stack) - Lead a portfolio of six sigma/lean projects of varying complexity annually - Ensures Lean and Six Sigma activities are aligned with region strategies and activities - Works with assigned client groups within the East Region in developing project ideas and chartering projects - Develops productivity alternatives with appropriate risk profiles and/or identifies actions to mitigate risks - May influence outcomes within broad area of responsibility and/or beyond client group - Identifies productivity opportunities across the organization - Monitors best practices and external/ internal trends and makes recommendations to improve productivity procedures, methods, and tools - Provides mentorship to client Green Belts - Travel to plant sites and perform plant reviews (finances and operations) Required Qualifications: - Five years + of Business/Project Management/Operations experience - Bachelor's Degree - Strong analytical skills - must be able to aggregate and synthesize data to make informed decisions - Interpersonal skills - must relate comfortably with people across levels, functions, culture, and geography. - Must be able and comfortable influencing without authority to promote change - Strong communication skills - must be able to concisely and convincingly deliver messages in both written and verbal formats. - Travel up to 10% Preferred Qualifications: - Air Separation Process Knowledge - Six Sigma Project Lead Experience - Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification - Plant process modeling experience - Engineering Degree - Willing to travel up to 25% About Linde: Linde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company with 2025 sales of $34 billion.
