Description:
Position Overview: The LGUS National Planning Organization is responsible for optimizing and continuously improving the total variable cost of delivering products to customers. It also ensures safe, reliable supply and that all deliveries meet FDA requirements and comply with Linde's quality assurance standards. This role, under the direction of the Executive Director for National Distribution, oversees one or more regions, one or more planning managers and up to 10 staff level employees to achieve our goals. Duties: - Manage the production planning process with responsible region targeting lowest total cost to serve. - Optimize our distribution KPI's looking to meet our CCF/delivered goal to the organization. - Identify opportunities for productivity and support projects to meet Productivity targets as set forth by the organization. - Collaborate with product management and operations teams to ensure reliable supply during planned and unplanned maintenance. - Utilize Production and Distribution Planning tools such as DTS, ATLAS, PALS, and PAMS. - Participate in distribution budget for regional business unit. - Work with the region to help ensure they are adequately staffed with drivers and equipment to meet customer demands. - Supervises one or more Logistics Managers. Ensuring continuous improvement, career development and goal achievement for both your managers and Planners. - Interacts with Regional Distribution management for continuous improvement. - Adapts quickly to changing conditions. - Creates a best-in-class workplace and training program for Planners, so they provide excellent driver and customer service. - Support product management in identification and evaluation of areas to target for potential capacity increases. - Support regional sales team with tank sizing and feasibility reviews for growth and new business. - Balancing supply vs demand and managing regional inventories on a daily/weekly basis. - Optimize driver schedules to most efficiently meet customer demands. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree required. Preferred in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance or Business - At least 5 years' experience demonstrating career progression and management in logistics, sales, engineering or plant operations/distribution in an industrial gas company. - Fleet experience preferred. - Willingness to travel as required, typically up to 10%. - Willingness to flex starting and ending times to ensure your team at all levels meets or exceeds goals and expectations by having regular face time with management. - An even-tempered personality not easily stressed or upset. Confidently leads others by example during stressful moments. - A demonstrated successful problem solver and anticipator of problems before they occur for resolution. - Valid driver's license. - Has a track record of exceeding goals successfully. - Upholds high standards of honesty and integrity. - Demonstrates personal ownership for safety and actively contributes to a strong safety culture. - Contributes to a positive work environment where differences are valued and supported. - Ensures accountability through collaboration and interpersonal skills. - Experience utilizing and manipulating data to understand the business and evaluate decisions. - Comfortable presenting to and communicating with regional management and providing data-driven analysis.
