Liberty Resources, Inc. is looking for an engaging clinician who is interested in supporting families in taking on tough challenges and achieve long lasting change through Multisystemic Therapy. We serve families of adolescents, age 12-17, who are engaging in behaviors that are resulting in system consequences and unsafe situations.

Trained and empowered with an evidence-based model, therapists engage the youth’s primary caregiver and other key participants across the systems (the identified youth, family members, school, service providers, etc.) in developing and implementing interventions to


Position Summary:


Under the direct supervision of the MST Program Supervisor, the Therapist is primarily responsible for the provision of family counseling to children and families involved in the MST program to prevent youth from receiving system consequences, have contact with the juvenile justice system, or be at risk of placement outside of the home.



Essential Job Functions:


1. Provide therapeutic counseling to families, including individual and family sessions, using methods compatible with the MST model’s principles and practices. Sessions are held in the home/community and offer nontraditional availability.


2. Conduct a multisystemic MST assessment including review of referral information, identifying, and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses, and developing an analysis of the fit of problem behaviors within the ecological context.


3. Engage and collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system, to maintain alignment throughout MST treatment.


4. Utilize assessment information and the MST Analytical Process to guide case conceptualization and treatment planning.


5. Participate in all MST training, supervision, consultation, and MST Therapist development activities.


6. Provides crisis intervention services and on-call coverage to support the program’s 24/7 availability.



Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Completes, weekly treatment summaries that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback.


2. Provides treatment progress information and required reports to supervisor and community partners; DCFS staff, probation officers and the courts. This can include providing family court testimony if subpoenaed





3. Participates in quality assurance components built in to the MST model.


4. Demonstrates the values of diversity, equity and belonging; foster an inclusive environment that facilitates diversity.


5. Maintains effective professional relationships with other service providers and community organizations in the interest of clients’ and program goals.


6. Able to provide telehealth services when required by client or circumstance.


7. Identifies and reports on critical and Untoward Incidents as required.


8. Carries out Agency policies and procedures including compliance with HIPAA standards.


9. Completes all necessary written reports, statistics, case files and summaries in a timely manner and in accordance with program and agency standards.


10. Attends and participates in individual supervisory conferences, staff meetings, training sessions and professional development opportunities as required. Maintains required program certifications.


11. Provides door-to-door transportation as required. Ensures safety and welfare of passengers during loading, unloading and transit. Makes use of personal vehicle for program transportation as required.


12. Handles emergency situations which may require flexibility of time and area of assignment.


13. Performs other duties, responsibilities and related tasks as assigned.



Qualifications:

Masters in Social Work or related clinical degree and one (1) year post-graduate experience. Prior related experience may be substituted for one (1) year post-graduate requirement. Must have a valid New York State driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Possesses strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Adapts clinical conceptualization to the MST model. Performs well in a team approach. Possesses ability to manage flexible hours in order to work

effectively with families


Salary: $55, 000 annually
