SUMMARY OF POSITION:


The Team Leader is under the supervision of the Regional Program Director. The Team Leader acts as a liaison between the Regional Program Director and itinerant physical therapy clinical staff and is generally responsible for assisting in maintaining quality clinical services pertaining to his/her discipline. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing services to a partial caseload, supervising clinicians, conducting clinical observations and performance appraisals, assisting in organizing and presenting in-services and responding to e-mails and phone calls in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Participate in the interview process of clinical staff within discipline
  • Conduct new employee orientation within discipline
  • Act as a resource for clinicians within discipline.
  • Supervise clinicians within discipline via caseload facilitation, clinical observation; treatment note and report review
  • Review annual review reports and work collaboratively with other discipline specific team leaders and administrative staff
  • Complete and conduct annual performance appraisals within discipline
  • Manage employee issues and concerns in collaboration with the Regional Program Director
  • Participate in organizing and conducting continuing education in-services for clinical staff
  • Attend and actively participate in regular team leader meetings
  • Attend and facilitate discipline specific meetings
  • Attend county/regional meetings as requested
  • Remain up to date on state and regional regulation changes pertaining to service delivery.
  • Communicate and work effectively with related agencies, community members, clients, families and co-workers.
  • Attend continuing education workshops to stay abreast on clinical practices.
  • Carry a partial clinical caseload and follow POST clinician job description.
  • Represent POST and the region in a professional manner and act as a change agent throughout his/her team.
  • Act as a catalyst for new discipline specific ideas for expansion or new programs
  • Perform related duties as may be required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


Education:

Master's degree in Physical Therapy.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in a pediatric setting.

Qualifications:

  • Communicate effectively via phone, email, in public, and in large groups.
  • Work independently.
  • Manage time and prioritize tasks appropriately.
  • Function as an organized, independent, professional and highly capable clinician.

License/Certification

● NYS Physical Therapy License

● Valid Drivers’ license.

Physical: Employees in this position must have the ability to:

● Sit for extended periods of time.

● Enter data into a PC, laptop or tablet, operate standard office equipment, and use a telephone.

● Stand, walk, and bend over, climb stairs/steps, reach overhead, grasp, push, pull and move, lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds to waist height.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

● Performs work in various settings, including home-based, schools, and office.

● Possible exposure to pathogens (blood or air-borne).

PAY RATE:

  • Paid stipend for up to 20 hours ($32K-38K based on experience and then itinerant rates (as per the rates you have) for all services rendered.
