Liberty POST has a NEW opening for an Early Childhood Classroom Teacher in Syracuse NY
Do you have experience working in a classroom with toddlers
and are you looking for a collaborative and supportive work environment?
Liberty POST is currently seeking a Special Education Teacher or an Early Intervention Teacher
for a toddler classroom with children aged 18 months to 3 years of age.
This program currently runs 3 days per week in an AM and PM enrollment. (12 students per class)

Plans for and executes developmentally appropriate activities for toddlers enrolled in program based on their individual needs.
Work collaboratively with related service providers to provide required services for children.
Manage and direct teacher aides in the classroom.
Effectively communicate and work with related agencies, community members, families and co-workers.
Establish and maintain a rapport, demonstrate respect and appreciation with/for with clients/family members/caregivers and co-workers.
Review student information and complete necessary forms with family in collaboration with other service providers and their service coordinator.
Work with transportation to ensure safe and appropriate transportation.
Complete IFSP requirements with team members.
Gather outside information regarding child’s needs in a variety of settings.
Utilize lectronic recording system to record notes and evaluation results and submit evaluation write up to team leader.
Attend and participates in ongoing staff in-services and quarterly meetings.
Attend required meetings under Early Intervention regulation.
Qualifications:
Organized; takes pride in quality of own work.
Evidence of independence and forward thinking related to clinical expertise.
Evidence of initiative, willing to give insight.
Open to feedback and commitment to quality of provided services.
Proficient on assessment tools necessary for updating progress.
Responds positively to suggestions/directions, maintains flexible attitude, and generates new ideas or process improvements.
Maintains confidentiality of client records.
NYS Certification (SPED or B-2 Students with Disabilities)
Ability to enter data into a PC, laptop, or mobile device, operate standard office equipment, and use a telephone.
Ability to stand, walk, and bend over, climb stairs/steps, reach overhead, grasp, push, pull and move, lift and /or carry up to 25 pounds to waist height.
Salary Range:
• The salary range is $54, 000/year - $56, 000/year.
