Special Education Teacher

A Teacher will develop, plan, and implement curriculum lesson plans and educational programs for students. The Teacher will track progress, communicate with parents, and maintain classroom management. The Teacher position responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Make knowledge accessible to all students.Develop students cognitive capacity and respect for learning and maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.Maintain good order and respect among students, promote understanding of the schools rules and values, safeguard health and safety, and develop relationships with and between students that are conducive to learning.Plan for and guide the learning process to help students achieve program objectives.Maintain an attractive and stimulating classroom environment and contribute to displays in the school.Implement useful diagnostic and progress assessment measures, and mark and assess students work and development.Establish a cooperative relationship with all assigned students and foster students self-esteem, motivation, and sense of civic responsibility.Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians.Engage in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of job-related knowledge and skill development.Work collaboratively with other classrooms, related services, classroom staff, and program personnel to achieve each students needs and goals and the overall purposes of the school program.Supervision and provide feedback to classroom staff.Be able to lift a min. of 50 lbs.Perform other duties as assigned.
