Job summary

As a Data Scientist at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset Management Risk team, you will be an integral part of an agile team that provides risk transparency and insights to our internal and external clients. Building, enhancing, and delivering data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way is key to success. You will be responsible for generating, designing, and executing on actionable insights through the transformation of large data sets managed by the team. You will be the architect of the business process going forward ensuring that business process stays common at its core, and flexible around the edges to evolve as the business evolves.

Job responsibilities
  • Lead the development and delivery of data science solutions to empower our Risk employees
  • Manage the integration of performance, flow, market and risk data for the asset management platform and use data science techniques to identify drivers and trends
  • Develop framework to identify anomalies in highly customized client businesses
  • Engage stakeholders to define business requirements and define success criteria through user stories and story mapping
  • Manage projects through the entire lifecycle: Assess and document current process and associated issues, understand desired state, process improvement design and recommendations, translation of business requirements to technical requirements, user acceptance testing and user implementation
  • Develop and deploy stakeholder engagement plans to shift technology including digital adoption and artificial intelligence as well as behavior and process changes to achieve project and organizational objectives
  • Work with peers and stakeholders to identify use cases and opportunities for Data Science to create value
  • Design and deliver solutions that are flexible and scalable using the firm's approved tools
  • Develop data-driven approaches to assist the employee's workday experience
  • Communicate analytical findings to senior leaders through data visualization and storytelling


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 5+ years' experience as a Data Scientist or in an adjacent quantitative role
  • Knowledge of a range of languages and tools; SQL, Python, Data bricks Starburst, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Sage maker, and data visualization solutions
  • Experience in Large Language Model (LLM) implementations, Machine Learning (ML) solutions such as insights, pattern detection, generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), forecasting, and ML algorithms
  • Strong leadership qualities with proven track record to lead and motivate geographically dispersed teams; aptitude to work effectively with senior management and other team members
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to communicate and present appropriately at all levels of the organization through written and verbal methods
  • Flexible, process-oriented, organized, with excellent analytical & troubleshooting skills
  • Extensive experience driving process change and efficiencies - strong focus on execution and delivery against objectives

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Masters, PhD in a quantitative or related discipline, or CQF (Certificate in Quantitative Finance)
