Description:

As an experienced and strategic Executive Director, you will lead the foundations pillar within our Investment Banking Data team. You will drive the convergence of legacy Investment Banking data platforms into our strategic data platform, ensuring robust data governance and management, and securing valuable third-party and internal datasets for Investment Banking. You should have a strong background in data management, governance, and strategy, with a proven track record of leading complex data initiatives in a financial services environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Lead the Foundations pillar, focusing on data governance, management, and platform convergence.
    • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for converging heritage data platforms into the strategic data platform.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to align data initiatives with the overall Investment Banking strategy.
  • Data Governance & Management:
    • Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data quality, compliance, and security.
    • Oversee data stewardship activities, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across all platforms.
    • Drive initiatives to enhance data cataloging, data quality validations, and data protection.
  • Platform Convergence:
    • Lead efforts to integrate and converge heritage data platforms into a unified strategic data platform.
    • Work closely with technology teams to ensure seamless data integration and platform scalability.
  • Data Acquisition & Integration:
    • Identify and onboard valuable third-party and internal data sources for Investment Banking.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure timely delivery of data assets.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Build and lead a high-performing team of data professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
    • Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support for career growth.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Engage with key stakeholders across the organization to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that drive business value.
    • Communicate complex data concepts and strategies to non-technical audiences.


Required skills and qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in data management, governance, and/or digital products buildout within the financial services industry.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale data platform convergence initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced environment.
