The Business Banking Lending and Cash Management team (L& CM) is a customer-focused team comprised of subject matter experts across conventional lending, Small Business Administration (SBA), and Cash Management who play a key role in supporting both our clients and our internal partners. Planning, execution and continuous improvement are critical to the team's success.
The Executive Director, Head of Business Management and Strategy Support in Business Banking, will lead a 10-15 person team for Lending & Cash Management. Reporting to, and serving as a strategic partner for, the General Manager of Business Banking Lending and Cash Management Solutions, this leader will drive key strategic projects, organizational effectiveness, operational excellence, and culture. The role is accountable for leading teamwide initiatives, identifying opportunities for improvement across the team, leadership routines, business resiliency, and team engagement, . The ideal candidate is a proactive operator with strong strategic mindset, program leadership, communication, and organizational skills who synthesizes data, aligns stakeholders, and delivers results against clear priorities, SLAs, and KPIs.
Job Responsibilities - Lead Business Management & Sales Strategy for L& CM, spanning procedures, controls, reporting, strategy, training, and communications.
- Influence KPI/OKR frameworks; enforce a single source of truth; automate reporting with SLAs and variance escalation in partnership with D& A.
- Drive competitive analysis across Cash Management and Lending; translate insights into strategy, positioning, and commercialization.
- Orchestrate cross-functional initiatives (AI implementation, CXP roadmaps); align Product, D& A, Marketing, Finance, and Technology to deliver outcomes; ensure timely, transparent stakeholder communications.
- Lead strategic programs, including Cash Management onboarding and delineation of Wholesale vs. Retail in Lending.
- Oversee financial and operational planning-headcount, budgets (including T& E), location strategy, and requisitions-and ensure allocation transparency.
- Maintain business resiliency by updating response plans and coordinating incident communications.
- Lead executive and field communications (Town Halls, monthly updates) with clear cascade plans; centralize calendars and content governance.
- Produce executive-ready presentations; pre-wire decisions and brief leaders to accelerate outcomes.
- Run inclusive offsites and engagement routines; codify operating rituals and best practices; champion continuous improvement and innovation.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills- Strategic operator who connects enterprise vision to execution, diving into details to deliver measurable results.
- Executive-level communicator and influencer (negotiation, presentation, analytical problem-solving) who drives outcomes without formal authority.
- Sound judgment and independent decision-making, paired with trusted cross-functional relationships and the courage to challenge and improve engagement models.
- Operational discipline: clear governance, deadlines, exceptional planning and time management across multiple priorities; proven program and change leadership, organizational effectiveness, and business resiliency.
- Deep Financial Services expertise in Business Banking and Lending; proficient in Microsoft Office and Pitch Pro for executive-grade analysis and communication.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills- 10+ years of relevant work experience; 5+ years managing teams
- Demonstrated ability to perform independent analysis, ask probing questions, and challenge existing processes to drive improvements.
- Skilled in identifying root causes of issues and driving resolutions, effectively managing escalations and ensuring thorough follow-through. Capable of partnering with internal teams to resolve challenges.
- Expertise in analyzing, assessing, and developing business initiatives within the small business lending sector.
- Proficient in cultivating strong relationships with internal partners and influencing stakeholders beyond direct management control.
