JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. is hiring!

Description:

Credit Research is where markets, news, and fundamentals collide daily-and where strong, differentiated views matter. In this role, you will dig into financials, form views quickly, and communicate them clearly, translating complex company and sector dynamics into actionable insights for some of the world's most sophisticated institutional investors.

Job summary

As a Sell-Side Credit Research Analyst covering Latin America corporates, you will support sector and issuer coverage end-to-end: analyzing earnings and filings, tracking breaking news and macro trends, building and maintaining financial models, and producing timely research on credit risk, valuation, and relative value. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders-including economists, equity analysts, and EM counterparts across Asia and CEEMEA-while developing your own coverage capabilities and client voice. Latin America is a predominantly high yield region with a complex credit landscape, frequent idiosyncratic events, and a high incidence of governance and fraud risk-candidates must be prepared to operate with the analytical rigor and intellectual independence that this environment demands.

Job responsibilities
  • Own day-to-day monitoring of assigned sectors and issuers, staying ahead of catalysts, credit events, flows, and fundamental developments across Latin America's diverse corporate landscape
  • Analyze earnings releases, regulatory filings, and financial disclosures, translating takeaways into a clear, differentiated credit view with speed and precision
  • Assess macro developments (commodities, FX, rates, politics) and their implications for spreads, ratings, capital structures, and refinancing capacity
  • Build, maintain, and enhance financial statement models and key credit metrics, focusing on leverage, liquidity, coverage ratios, and maturity profiles
  • Perform valuation and relative value analysis across issuers, curves, and capital structures to identify actionable opportunities for clients
  • Produce publication-ready research (earnings updates, initiations, credit events, thematic notes) with high analytical integrity and writing quality
  • Communicate views in live client discussions and internal forums, supporting franchise and external rankings through proactive engagement

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 6+ years of experience in credit research, investment banking, corporate finance, or another rigorous analytical role
  • Deep understanding of corporate credit fundamentals, including accounting and capital structure analysis, and the ability to translate financials into actionable credit implications
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing high yield credits, distressed situations, and complex capital structures
  • Advanced Excel financial modeling skills, including building and maintaining detailed financial statement models from scratch
  • Fluency with AI-enabled tools and data platforms to accelerate and enhance analytical output
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills, producing clear, precise, publication-ready work under time pressure
  • Ability to form and defend independent, differentiated views in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Prior sell-side or buy-side credit research experience with direct coverage of Latin American corporates
  • Sector expertise in one or more areas (e.g., oil and gas, mining, utilities, infrastructure, consumer, transportation, pulp and paper, agribusiness, TMT, cement and construction, financial institutions)
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg, FactSet, and other market data platforms
  • Familiarity with local market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and corporate governance standards across key Latin American jurisdictions (e.g., Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Peru)
