The Alternative Investments Group (AIG) is responsible for the selection and monitoring of alternative asset managers for Global Wealth Management clients. This will include communications with asset managers, internal investment specialists, and clients considering the use of an alternative asset manager within an investment program. Managers include multiple asset classes across hedge funds, private equity funds, private credit funds, and real estate funds. With over $115 billion of client capital invested across alternatives, the team brings a unique perspective to sourcing and offering alternative investment opportunities. AIG consists of a collaborative cross functional team of professionals including Investment Specialists, Investor Relations, Due Diligence, Structuring and other functional support colleagues located in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, London, Geneva, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Mumbai
As the Head of Alternative Investment Strategy and Market Intelligence, you are an integral part of the Alternatives business that will help develop and shape market perspectives and thought leadership on Private Markets for JPMorgan.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and shape private market perspectives and thought leadership content for JPMorgan.
- Regularly produce private market research (e.g., Quarterly Direct Lending and Real Estate updates) that reflects the \"JPM view\" and place them within the context of broader market trends. Recent topics include Private Credit, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Growth & Venture Capital, Private Equity, and Secondaries.
- Collaborate with the Global Investment Strategy team to coordinate Market Views across various Solutions and Asset Classes, and to publish comprehensive full-year and mid-year Outlooks for Wealth Management channels.
- Organize and participate in JPM client webcasts focusing on Alternatives topics and market Outlooks.
- Create and disseminate thematic or targeted thought leadership pieces (e.g., the impact of AI on power generation and investment opportunities in sports through alternatives)
- Work closely with internal and external advisors to produce educational primers on private markets.
- Deliver on-demand educational webcasts and advisor sessions for clients.
- Convey key Portfolio Construction messages to advisors, facilitating conversations and execution strategies (e.g., evergreen vs. drawdown, fund selection, annual commitment planning, and technology integration).
- Collaborate with Marketing to support Alternatives campaigns, enhance website content, engage on social media, and contribute to firmwide and industry publications.
- Work with the media relations team to participate in external communications and updates.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex ideas, both in writing and verbally, to diverse internal and external audiences, including senior executives, with proven track record within Alternative Investments
- 10 years of experience in investment and wealth management, with a strong emphasis on analytical roles centered around financial market research, asset allocation, or portfolio strategy, particularly within the realm of alternative investments.
- Proven capability to collaborate across all organizational levels, fostering strong relationships with team members, managers, partner teams, and senior leaders across multiple locations, particularly within the alternative investments sector.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to new challenges.
- Track record of thriving in a culture that values excellence, innovation, communication, and accountability, with a commitment to exceeding expectations and a global, creative mindset.
- Strong interest and aptitude in enhancing existing processes, with a focus on building scalability and automation within alternative investment operations.
- Commitment to obtaining Series 7 & 63 licenses within six months of hire
