Primary Assembly Operator

Shift / Schedule: Second shift; Monday-Thursday; 10-hour shifts; 3: 30 p.m. - 2: 00 a.m. Purpose: The Primary Assembly associate manually places electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCBs) by following manufacturing instructions and visual aids. The role checks work for accuracy, moves completed boards to the next process, and records production information. Responsibilities: Follow manufacturing process instructions (MPIs), shop packs, and posted visual aids. Select the correct pre-staged components and place them on PCBs by hand. Submit the first completed board for inspection and continue the order after approval. Place completed boards on the conveyor for automatic soldering. Load or unload panels from the automatic soldering machine as needed. Complete required paperwork and record production in the company information system. Maintain a safe, clean work area and report quality or equipment concerns. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Experience with small parts, repetitive assembly, or work requiring manual dexterity preferred. Ability to read and follow English instructions, diagrams, drawings, and part markings. Basic math, alphanumeric recognition, computer entry, and hand-tool skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused during repetitive work. Ability to work independently after first-piece approval and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to sit for extended periods, perform repetitive fine-motor work, reach, bend, walk, and lift up to 10 pounds. Ability to distinguish colors and small part differences and hear instructions, alarms, and announcements. Key Relationships: Reports to: Production Manager Internal: Manufacturing and Quality Teams
