Job Description
ICM Controls Corp. is hiring a Associate OEM Sales Manager in North Syracuse, NY. This is a full-time position.
Position Summary ICM Controls is seeking a high-potential Associate OEM Sales Manager to help grow our OEM business. This role is designed for an early-career professional who combines strong commercial drive with technical aptitude, analytical capability, and a desire to build a career in sales. This is not a traditional inside-sales or sales-support position. The Associate OEM Sales Manager will have direct ownership of existing OEM accounts while also developing new business with targeted small and mid-tier OEM customers. The individual will be responsible for growing customer relationships, identifying new applications and opportunities, building qualified pipeline, and ultimately delivering profitable sales growth. During approximately the first year, the Associate OEM Sales Manager will be based at ICM's headquarters to develop a strong understanding of ICM's products, applications, customers, manufacturing capabilities, sales processes, and internal functions. The role will work closely with experienced sales leaders, Product Management, Engineering, Sales Operations, and other functions while progressively taking on greater customer and commercial responsibility. The Associate OEM Sales Manager will be closely mentored by the Strategic Account Director, a seasoned OEM sales professional, who will provide practical coaching on account management, customer relationships, rep-group engagement, opportunity development, and commercial execution. Following the initial development period, the Associate OEM Sales Manager may relocate to another region of the United States based on business needs, customer concentration, territory opportunities, and individual development. Key Responsibilities Own and grow a portfolio of existing OEM accounts, including customers both with and without independent sales representative coverage. Develop strong relationships across customer organizations, including engineering, purchasing, operations, product management, and business leadership. Develop account growth plans and proactively identify new applications, programs, and share-of-wallet opportunities. Prospect and develop targeted small and mid-tier OEM accounts, with an emphasis on markets and customers where ICM's technical capabilities, responsiveness, and agility provide a competitive advantage. Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities and actively advance opportunities from initial engagement through quoting, development, and conversion. Work with Product Management, Engineering, and other technical resources to understand customer requirements and align ICM solutions to customer needs. Coordinate effectively with independent sales representatives where coverage exists while maintaining direct accountability for assigned accounts and results. Develop the skills required to manage and leverage independent rep relationships effectively. Use ICM's CRM system consistently and as required for all assigned accounts and opportunities. Maintain timely and accurate customer, contact, activity, opportunity, pipeline, next-step, and account information; CRM usage and data quality are core expectations of the role and will be monitored as part of performance. Develop account-level sales forecasts and proactively communicate opportunities, risks, customer developments, and required actions. Support quoting and commercial negotiations while developing a strong understanding of pricing, margin, customer economics, and ICM's value proposition. Participate in customer visits, industry events, rep meetings, and other business-development activities. Use customer, market, pipeline, and sales data to identify opportunities and prioritize activity. Deliver assigned account-growth, pipeline-development, customer-coverage, and other commercial objectives. First-Year Development Focus The first year will combine structured learning with real commercial accountability. The Associate OEM Sales Manager will be expected to: Develop strong working knowledge of ICM products, applications, markets, and competitive positioning. Understand how ICM develops, manufactures, prices, quotes, and supports its products. Build relationships across Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, Sales Operations, and other key functions. Learn and consistently follow ICM's sales processes, required CRM practices, account-planning approach, and commercial operating cadence. Participate in customer and rep visits with experienced commercial and technical leaders. Assume progressively greater ownership of assigned OEM accounts. Build and develop a pipeline of targeted new OEM opportunities. Demonstrate readiness for broader account and sales responsibility. We're looking for someone with potential rather than years of experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate: Bachelor's degree required. Engineering/STEM related fields, business, economics, or another relevant discipline preferred. Recent graduate or early-career professional; prior internship, co-op, technical, customer-facing, or sales experience is beneficial but not required. Strong intellectual curiosity and technical aptitude with the ability and desire to understand engineered products and customer applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with data to identify opportunities and make decisions. Commercial curiosity and an interest in understanding customers, markets, competition, and how businesses make money. High level of initiative, drive, ownership, and personal accountability. Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with both technical and commercial audiences. Confidence initiating conversations, asking questions, prospecting for new business, and developing relationships from the ground up. Strategic thinking combined with a willingness to execute the day-to-day work required to develop accounts and opportunities. Strong organizational skills and discipline in managing multiple customers, opportunities, priorities, and follow-up actions. Coachability and a strong desire to learn and develop quickly. Comfort working in a performance-oriented environment with clear goals and accountability.
