Description:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree or graduate degree program in an engineering discipline by the start of employment.
  • Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.). Must be proficient working in a Microsoft systems environment. Excel is required.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic programming recommended
  • Prior Internship work experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills


The salary for this position is $25 per hour.Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Continuous Improvement Intern in our Kingston, New York location.

We are seeking highly motivated and energetic students for the 2026 summer intern program at Howmet Fastening Systems. The program consists of 10-12 weeks of structured hands-on training involving plant tours, seminars, networking events, and projects selected to add direct value to the business. At the conclusion of the program, interns will present their projects to plant managers, supervisors, and mentors. An internship at Howmet Fastenings Systems will provide an invaluable experience that you can utilize in any roles, and it's Howmet Aerospace's goal to evaluate our interns for potential entry-level openings.

This position will report directly to the site's CI Manager with daily coaching from the team's quality engineers and technicians. The Howmet Aerospace Summer Internship Program will include engaging in impactful projects to assist the company and the student's professional development.
  • Support 5S initiatives throughout the production floor, including set up of potential purchase of foam cutting equipment used to standardized workstation setups, update production floor visio layout and work station time studies for rate accuracy.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to work full time, onsite for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning in May or June 2026
  • Able to provide own transportation for position at Kingston, NY.
