Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead Field Service Technician on behalf of our client, a global leader in building automation, energy, and safety technologies. In this role, you will play a pivotal leadership part in supporting field operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and driving customer satisfaction across the Western NY region.

Reporting directly to the Field Service Supervisor, you will leverage your technical expertise to mentor technicians, manage complex on-site tasks, and resolve advanced system issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor field service technicians to ensure quality, safe, and timely service delivery.

  • Perform complex troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and system repairs on commercial Building Automation Systems (BAS).

  • Maintain clear and accurate records of service activities, system diagnostics, and work completed.

  • Coordinate effectively with clients and internal engineering teams to optimize system performance and resolve operational issues.

  • Maintain strict adherence to organizational safety procedures, regulatory guidelines, and customer site requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of proven technical experience in field service operations focusing on Building Automation Systems (BAS).

  • In-depth technical proficiency with building automation controls, diagnostic tools, software, multimeters, and life safety/fire system devices.

  • Proven leadership capability with the ability to guide technicians and manage multiple field assignments simultaneously.

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills in high-complexity environments.

  • U.S. Export Control Compliance: Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations (ITAR/EAR), candidates must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder, or protected individual under refugee/asylum status).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, HVAC, or a related technical discipline.

  • Direct hands-on experience with industry-standard system verifier tools and specialized compliance software.

  • Demonstrated history of supervisory or team-lead roles within field operations.

  • Strong customer relations, communication, and organizational skills.
