Position: Vice President, Investment Management

Location: New York, NY

JOB SUMMARY

HGI is seeking a Vice President to join our Investment Management team. The VP will lead the analysis, monitoring, and reporting on all aspects of investments across the portfolio, taking ownership of performance evaluation, valuation, and investor communications. The VP will oversee junior team members, drive quarterly reporting and distribution processes, and serve as a key point of contact for investors, auditors, and internal leadership. The role requires close collaboration with senior executives and cross-functional teams. The role is onsite, based in New York City.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead investment and fund performance reviews, including financial modeling, pro forma cash flow analysis, and market landscape assessments.
  • Partner with the Transactions team to evaluate the risk/return profile and strategic fit of new investment opportunities.
  • Own the quarterly distribution process, including aggregating financial data, analyzing performance, reviewing projections, and overseeing waterfall calculations.
  • Lead valuation processes for investments within the portfolio, coordinating with external appraisers and auditors as needed.
  • Drive the evaluation of new opportunities across property sectors and capital structures, providing recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Oversee preparation of detailed quarterly asset and fund performance reports, as well as customized investor reporting.
  • Review and contribute to marketing materials including due diligence questionnaires and pitchbooks.
  • Manage and mentor junior Investment Management team members, including Analysts and Associates.
  • Lead special projects and strategic initiatives as directed by senior leadership.
  • Coordinate across all verticals of the firm, including Transactions, Asset Management, Accounting and Finance, Legal and Compliance, and Investor Relations.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, or a similar field
  • 9+ years of progressive experience in commercial real estate private equity, private equity, or financial services.
  • Deep expertise in underwriting, deal structuring, waterfall mechanics, and private equity real estate fundamentals.
  • Proven ability to lead workstreams independently and manage junior talent in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related platforms; experience with Argus or similar real estate software a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical rigor, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong executive presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience presenting to senior stakeholders and investors.
