SALARY RANGE: $24.00 - $26.75

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

The Facilities Technician, under general supervision, is responsible for maintaining the bank’s buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, functional, and professional environment for customers and employees. This role supports day-to-day operations by performing routine maintenance, coordinating repairs, and responding to facility-related issues across all GRB locations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensuring that people within all GRB buildings are safe, secure and comfortable.
  • Take a proactive approach toward maintenance and safety.
  • Maintain the integrity of GRB’s equipment and physical infrastructure.
    • Equipment includes: mechanical; electrical; plumbing assets; fire/life safety; appliances; physical security and outdoor assets.
    • Infrastructure includes: grounds maintenance; janitorial services; wall, ceiling and floor repair and external structure repair.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and minor carpentry.
  • Inspects facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to the Senior Facilities Technician.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot problems in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.
  • Maintain building systems such as heating, cooling, security, and fire safety equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and bank policies.
  • Assist with branch openings, renovations, and relocations as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment.
  • Oversight of supply procurement for the bank and maintaining proper levels of inventory.
  • Document work performed and maintain maintenance logs and reports.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

High school diploma or GED, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance and/or building operations, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Technical or trade certification preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance practices.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Principles and practices for providing high level of customer service.
  • Modern office practices, methods, and computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between locations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must possess: strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium to heavy physical work, to work around machines, to climb and descend ladders, to operate a variety of tools and equipment, and to operate a motor vehicle; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and to distinguish colors in wiring; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio. Frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards. Finger dexterity needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, and to operate tools and equipment. Incumbents in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and inspect work sites. Incumbents must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.

ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS:

Incumbents work in both indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels. May work in controlled temperature conditions, cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions. Exposure to chemicals, mechanical and electrical hazards, and hazardous physical substances and fumes. Incumbents will interact with individuals in interpreting and enforcing rules, policies, and procedures.

WORKING CONDITONS:

Incumbents may be required to work an on-call and/or irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays.

  • Frequent travel between GRB facilities is required.
