Van Route Driver

Department: Day Services Reports To: Associate Director of Day Services FLSA Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt Schedule: Split shift Monday-Friday (6: 30am-10: 30am and 2: 30pm-6: 30pm) Salary: $20.00 hr. Summary: We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and safety focused Van Route Driver to transport adults with developmental disabilities to and from day programs. The ideal candidate will prioritize passenger safety, provide excellent customer service, and contribute to a supportive and respectful environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Safely operate a company van along assigned routes and schedules Transport individuals with developmental disabilities to designated locations Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, including use of lifts or securement systems when needed Ensure all passengers are properly secured with seatbelts or mobility device restraints Maintain a friendly, respectful, and patient demeanor with passengers always Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues promptly Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational policies Maintain accurate trip logs, attendance records, and incident reports as required Communicate effectively with program staff, caregivers, and supervisors Respond appropriately to emergencies or behavioral situations following training protocols Direct Support & Program Support: · Provide direct care and support as needed. · Model professional conduct reflective of EEDA's mission and values. · Perform additional duties as assigned.
