Multi-state commercial insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to provide on-site leadership to our Long Beach, NY location. This role requires previous relevant experience as well as the ability to work on-site full-time. It cannot be performed remotely.
Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:
Full understanding and oversight of the daily operation of the building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection etc) as well as maintenance conducted by 3rd party such as landscaping, snow removal etc.
Management of any vendors or contractors used for maintenance, repairs, or projects. Work in conjunction with corporate Facilities team on assessment and selection of vendors (ongoing feedback, make changes where necessary etc)
Direct management of Facilities staff
Management of mail room function, including evaluation of current processes, manpower, space and supplies required
Inventory, organization, and management of assets such as furniture, tools etc
Communicate with the local team, keeping key leaders in the loop on high level items as well as sending notifications to the broader office about operational items as necessary
Be proactive in suggesting potential improvements, resolution options for issues, modernization projects etc. Planning for these accordingly.
Act as advocate for emergency preparedness and lead charge on any drills or during actual building emergency
Work with HR to address any employee concerns about the physical working environment
Work with HR & IT on any employee workspace relocations
Availability to address off-hours emergencies should they arise
Technical Knowledge and Understanding:
Familiarity with IFMA and/or BOMA building guidelines, local fire code and other relevant statutes
Basic computer skills including Outlook, Word, internal portals etc.
Experience:
7+ years of relevant experience
Prior commercial property management experience OR experience in one of the relevant building trades
Experience supervising the work of 1 or more other people
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to explain nuanced items to all experience levels
The expected pay range for the role is $110, 000 - $135, 000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and experiences. The disclosed pay range estimate may also be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
