Tennis Coach Locations: Mouratoglou Tennis Center New York Club Fit Briarcliff, Briarcliff Manor, NY Mouratoglou Tennis Center Westchester Club Fit Jefferson Valley, Jefferson Valley, NY Department: Tennis Position Type: Tennis Professional / Coaching Reports To: Tennis Center Director and designated Program Director POSITION SUMMARY The Tennis Coach is responsible for delivering a consistently high-quality tennis experience aligned with the standards, methodology, culture, and player-development philosophy of Mouratoglou Tennis Centers. The position requires much more than the ability to teach tennis. Every coach is expected to represent the Mouratoglou brand through outstanding coaching, professionalism, energy, preparation, communication, teamwork, and commitment to player development. Coaches mayworkacross Junior Development, High Performance, Adult Tennis, private instruction, camps, match play, leagues, tournaments, events, and other approved programming based on their experience and the operational needs of the Center. Every Tennis Coach is expected to contribute positively to the entire Center rather than operate solely as an individual teaching professional. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES Deliver exceptional tennis instruction consistent with Mouratoglou standards and methodology. Develop players technically, tactically, physically, and mentally. Create a positive, demanding, energetic, and motivating learning environment. Provide an outstanding experience for players, parents, members, and guests. Support player retention and progression through appropriate development pathways. Contribute to a professional, collaborative, accountable, and team-oriented coaching culture. Support the growth and reputation of Mouratoglou Tennis Centers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES On-Court Coaching & Player Development Deliver private lessons, semi-private lessons, group clinics, junior programs, High-Performance sessions, Adult Tennis programs, camps, team practices, match-play sessions, and other programs as assigned. Provide technically sound, dynamic, purposeful, and player-centered instruction. Integrate technical, tactical, physical, and mental development into the coaching process. Understand each player's objectives and adapt instruction appropriately according to age, ability, competitive level, and development stage. Establish clear objectives for lessons and training sessions rather than simply feeding balls or running repetitive drills. Develop players' understanding of movement, decision-making, patterns of play, competitive behavior, and match management. Create an environment that combines high expectations with enthusiasm, encouragement, discipline, and respect. Evaluate players accurately and recommend appropriate programs, groups, competition levels, private instruction, and development pathways. Provide meaningful and constructive feedback to players. Preparation & Professional Standards Every coach is expected to: Arrive early and fully prepared for every assigned lesson, clinic, practice, meeting, and event. Maintain professional appearance and appropriate Mouratoglou/Center attire. Maintain an organized court environment and ensure all required equipment is ready before sessions begin. Start and finish sessions on time. Avoid unnecessary phone use or distractions while coaching. Demonstrate positive body language, enthusiasm, engagement, and professional presence. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with juniors, parents, members, and colleagues. Follow all Center policies regarding safety, safeguarding, conduct, communication, and player supervision. Player, Parent & Member Experience Build professional relationships with players and families based on trust, communication, consistency, and respect. Communicate player progress appropriately and constructively. Respond professionally to member and parent questions. Refer significant concerns or complaints to the appropriate Program Director or Tennis Center Director. Help players understand their development pathway and appropriate next steps. Make every player feel recognized, valued, and appropriately challenged. Support retention through excellent coaching and proactive communication. Teamwork & Center Culture Mouratoglou Tennis Centers operate asone coaching team. Coaches are therefore expected to: Collaborate with other professionals rather than operate independently. Share relevant player information appropriately with Program Directors and fellow coaches. Support substitute coverage and operational needs when reasonably required. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, coach education, and professional-development activities. Accept constructive feedback and demonstrate a willingness to continuously improve. Support colleagues and contribute positively to the working environment. Respect coaching assignments, player placements, departmental decisions, and established development pathways. Avoid recruiting players away from other Center professionals or creating internal competition inconsistent with the team culture. Represent the Center positively both inside and outside the facility. Program Support Support Junior Development, High Performance, Adult Tennis, camps, tournaments, leagues, events, evaluations, and special activities as assigned. Assist with player evaluations and placements. Maintain accurate attendance and other required program information. Communicate absences or scheduling conflicts promptly. Support promotional events, exhibitions, open houses, member events, and other Center initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve programs and communicate recommendations through the appropriate leadership structure. Safety & Player Welfare Maintain safe coaching environments and appropriate player-to-coach supervision. Follow all safeguarding and child-protection requirements. Report injuries, incidents, inappropriate conduct, or safety concerns immediately. Monitor player workload and physical condition appropriately. Workcollaboratively with Strength & Conditioning, medical, performance, or other approved specialists when applicable. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated tennis coaching experience. Strong playing and technical knowledge. Ability to coach different ages and ability levels. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professional, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented approach. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to receive feedback andworkwithin a defined coaching methodology. Required background screening and safeguarding compliance. CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain promptly. Availability toworkmornings, evenings, weekends, camps, tournaments, and peak seasonal periods as required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS USPTA, PTR, ITF, USTA, national federation, or comparable recognized coaching certification. College, national, international, or professional playing experience. Experience within structured junior-development or High-Performance environments. Experience working within a premium club or academy environment. Knowledge of video analysis and modern player-development technology.
