The Team

GVS is a separately managed business unit of global consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal Holdings, LLC, providing a full range of independent valuation services through three primary channels -corporates, asset managers and attorneys.

These services are delivered through four service lines in the U.S., Canada, Europe (UK, Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain), UAE, Australia and South America. Founded in 2012, GVS currently has over 250 employees globally.

How you will contribute

Responsible for the following:
  • Assisting the Global Practice Leader, Regional Leaders and Executive Committee in developing and implementing the global practice growth strategy, advising on all operational matters and translating objectives into actionable plans
  • Developing, maintaining, and optimizing activities and policies specific to:
    • Finance - reporting, budgeting, forecasting, staff and MD compensation
    • Talent - recruiting, onboarding, integration, performance management
    • Learning & Development - technical training, soft skills, business development, career mentoring
    • Information Technology


  • Oversight and enforcement of quality control and risk management policies and procedures across all service lines and geographies, including spearheading partnership between GVS and A& M Legal on all contracting matters
  • Manage all aspects of practice geographic expansion, serving as primary knowledge base for regional legal and regulatory compliance, while ensuring operational consistency, where appropriate
  • Coordinate global practice operations within GVS, other A& M business units, and Global People Organization (GPO)
  • Periodically liaise with other geographies to directly communicate practice and firm-wide strategies and initiatives, solicit feedback, and measure the practice "pulse"
  • Address ad hoc operational matters with appropriate urgency
  • Oversight and organization of practice off-sites and other initiatives designed to develop and foster a positive and cohesive culture
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and direction to direct reports within Operations Team


Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience, ideally within a similar operational or client-service role within another A& M business unit or an independent accounting, valuation, or professional services consulting firm
  • Direct experience dealing with client contracting issues
  • Ability to project with authority when interacting with staff and Managing Directors, and communicate effectively and persuasively, both in oral and written forms
  • Direct experience with web-based tools, such as Power BI, and Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Developing and utilizing analytical tools to draw conclusions from financial data
  • Collaborating with a divisional support team and corporate FP& A function to provide leaders with information necessary to make informed business and strategic decisions


The ideal location for this candidate is in the U.S. or Europe, with the ability to be in office no less than three days per week and flexibility for some travel.

Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $180, 000 - $210, 000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
