The TeamA& M's Tax Financial Services team specializes in providing tax support to private equity firms, asset managers, private credit lenders, real estate funds, hedge funds and global banks.
Our professionals have extensive experience supporting asset managers in the compliance and reporting of complex financial instruments and transactions, with a focus on partnership tax, investor reporting (including K‑1/K‑2/K‑3), and multi‑jurisdictional filing requirements. We specialize in helping clients navigate evolving regulatory frameworks and manage tax compliance obligations across federal, state, and international regimes in a manner that is accurate, efficient, and aligned with investor expectations. How you will contributeAs a member of the Tax Financial Services team with a focus in asset management tax reporting, you will:
- Lead the execution and review of complex tax compliance and reporting engagements, including partnership and corporate filings and multinational tax reporting
- Advise on the tax implications of multi-tiered partnership and fund structures, including allocations, basis considerations, and structuring for tax efficiency
- Build relationships with clients by understanding their business, their unique circumstances, offering proactive support, and timely execution
- Manage engagement risk, including technical tax positions, compliance risks, and client delivery considerations, while overseeing staffing and financial performance for multiple engagements at once including billing, collections, profitability and project budgets
- Provide supportive leadership by providing development and career guidance through mentoring and performance feedback to your team. You will drive your team to stay up to date on tax law changes and apply the most current and innovative tax practices to create and sustain a respected reputation in the market
- Actively engage less experienced team members by leading regular training sessions
- Build relationships across Tax and the rest of A& M. Develop a deep understanding of the areas of expertise across the firm to present clients with opportunities for additional support
- Build, manage, direct and monitor multiple client engagement teams while maintaining active communication with clients to manage expectations and help ensure client satisfaction
- Actively pursue business development opportunities and prioritize where and how to source new relationships
- Regularly meet with contacts to discuss broad business issues and develop market insight into new opportunities regarding how Tax and A& M can help address their critical business issues
Qualifications- CPA, JD (with bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting or tax, preferred),
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in partnership tax compliance, with a focus on asset managers, fund of funds, or financial services clients at a Big 4 firm, Big Law firm, or similar firm
- Strong understanding of partnership tax concepts, including allocations, capital accounts, and K‑1 reporting
- Familiarity with tax compliance software (e.g., OneSource, GoSystem, or similar) and ability to manage large, complex datasets
- Exposure to corporate tax concepts relevant to asset managers, including corporate blockers, and general understanding of ASC 740 tax provisions (e.g., current vs. deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions) is preferred
- Familiarity with international tax reporting and foreign withholding regimes, including exposure to Sections 1441, 1442, and 1446, and related investor-level reporting considerations for non‑U.S. partners
- Understanding of complex tax concepts relevant to asset managers, including Section 163(j) interest limitation rules and deal economics and tax distribution waterfalls
- Strong communication, presentation, project management, and business development skills
- Demonstrated ability to originate and grow client relationships, identify cross selling opportunities, and contribute to practice growth through business development initiatives
- Strong sense of personal motivation as well as the ability to work with a team
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with evolving timelines and competing priorities

The salary range is $175, 000 - $225, 000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A& M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
