Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated attorney to join our Legal team as an Assistant / Associate General Counsel supporting our Restructuring advisory practice. This role will focus on client engagement, retention processes, and risk-related matters in the context of Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, and/or litigation, along with experience negotiating professional services agreements and advising on legal and business risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal support to the Restructuring team on matters related to retention and engagement in Chapter 11 proceedings.
  • Draft and manage bankruptcy court filings, including retention applications and disclosures.
  • Lead the conflicts review process and work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve potential issues.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate engagement letters and related service agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal legal, compliance, and business teams to manage legal and organizational risk.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on developments in engagements, conflicts, and risk exposure.


Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State or Florida Bar.
  • 5-10 years of experience in restructuring and bankruptcy law at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Strong knowledge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, Chapter 11 proceedings, and related commercial law.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and handle competing deadlines.
  • A proactive, client-focused mindset with strong business acumen.

The salary range is $140, 000 - $215, 000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
