Description:
The Corporate M& A department is at the heart of DHL Group's growth and transformation journey, driving high-impact mergers and acquisitions that shape the future of the business. This team plays a pivotal role in identifying and executing strategic opportunities, managing complex transactions, and unlocking value through insightful financial analysis and risk management.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled M& A Professional with 2–4 years of experience in M& A, ideally gained at a top-tier Investment Bank. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in deal-making, valuation, and strategic thinking to deliver results and to work on strategic deals that shape the future of our Group, combining your analytical expertise with dynamic project execution.
Main Tasks as M& A Expert:
- Deal Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement M& A strategies aligned with corporate objectives. Lead the end-to-end deal process, including target identification, due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and integration planning. Nice to have
- Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify potential acquisition or divestiture opportunities.
- Financial Modeling & Valuation: Build and analyze financial models to assess the value and impact of potential transactions on business performance.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal teams (strategy, finance, tax, legal, etc.) and external advisors (investment banks, consultants, legal counsels) to ensure seamless transaction execution.
- Risk Assessment: Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks associated with M& A transactions, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and governance standards.
- Integration Planning: Support on post-merger integration processes to ensure synergies are realized and cultural alignment is achieved across merged entities. Nice to have
- Reporting & Presentation: Prepare and deliver presentations to Senior Executives and Corporate Board members on M& A opportunities, deal progress, and strategic recommendations.
- Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on industry trends, M& A activity, and regulatory changes to proactively identify growth opportunities.
This role demands strategic vision, strong analytical capabilities, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
Professional Requirements:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s in Finance, Business, or Economics; MBA or certifications (CFA/CPA) preferred.
- Experience: 2-4+ years in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Corporate M& A.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in financial modeling, valuation methods, due diligence, and M& A legal/tax implications.
- Research Skills: comprehensive market research and competitive analysis skills
- Strategic Acumen: Ability to align M& A activities with corporate strategy, leveraging industry trends and market insights.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills for engaging senior executives and stakeholders.
- Project Management: Experience in managing cross-functional teams and multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Global Expertise: Familiarity with international transactions, regulatory frameworks, and cultural dynamics in cross-border deals.
- Language Skills: Very good knowledge of English, knowledge of German is desirable.
