Senior Bookkeeper

Reports To

Trust Accounting Supervisor

Grade Level

Position Summary

A Senior Bookkeeper is responsible for reconciling all bank accounts and producing financial statements for specified Trusts. Also responsible for reviewing and approving Bookkeeper reconciliations, journal entries and financials.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries
  • Prepare bank reconciliation
  • Research and resolve open reconciliation items
  • Prepare cash management reports
  • Prepare transfer letters
  • File FICA and deposit withholding taxes by IRS deadlines
  • Produce custom financial statements
  • Communicate with multiple banks
  • Review and approve Bookkeeper reconciliations, journal entries, and financials
  • Train new Bookkeepers
  • Ability to meet monthly deadlines
  • Ability to complete daily assignments
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision


Other Responsibilities

  • Any other related duties assigned by Manager


Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Accounting/Banking background required
  • Proficient in Excel and Word
  • Accurate 10-key by touch
  • Good communication skills
  • MAS90 knowledge preferred
  • Must score 80% on basic accounting knowledge test
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure
