Job Description:

Vitalant is hiring an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientists to bring skilled technical support to our specialty blood component manufacturing/high complexity testing reference laboratories. Regardless of your experience in this field, we have a position tailored to your skill level.

What to Expect

Schedule: Wed - Sat 3pm - 1: 30 am (10 hours) + needed flexibility for PTO coverage and other staffing needs on occasion.

As a Med Lab Scientist, you'll get to

• Perform high complexity testing in immunohematology, including antibody identification, antigen typing, absorptions, elution, and cross match.(Ref Lab)
• Perform production, processing, and labeling of blood components and blood donations (Manu Lab)
• Provide technical support to hospital transfusion services.
• Review and report test results, participate in investigative studies, participate in quality control, preventative maintenance, and validations.
• Receive coaching, encouragement, and support from caring managers who are invested in your career and success.
• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, medical technology or clinical laboratory science required.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist/MLS/BB from an accredited agency or CLIA equivalent for high complexity testing required.
• State licensure as required by regulations.
• Minimum two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting or Blood Banking certification required.
