Shipping & Receiving Lead

*****$1, 500 HIRING BONUS***** JOB SUMMARY This position is a working lead who will not only lead but also perform a wide range of shipping and receiving tasks as needed. Verifies materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate departments/locations. Prepares items for shipment ensuring cost effective courier services. Ensures the warehouse runs smoothly when management is offsite. PRINCIPAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Rotates throughout the day to support the daily operation from receiving to shippingPick, pack, and process ordersEnsure proper procedures and safe equipment operations are followedEnsure all incoming goods are properly put away in correct bin locationsReceive and unload incoming goodsWork closely with Warehouse Manager to ensure that job requirements are satisfactorily metAssemble LTL pallet ordersLooks for continuous improvements in both productivity and quality.Capitalize on opportunities with urgency, commitment and responsiveness while supporting the customer and company needsMaintain a clean and safe work environmentAdditional duties, responsibilities and special projects may be assigned from time to time.Key and alarm code holder. KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS: Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.Ability to lift 50 lbs.Ability to receive, track, and put away goods.Basic computer knowledge.Ability to drive a forklift.Knowledge of logistics procedures.Problem solving abilities.Leadership experience a plus.
