Job Description

IntelliSource is seeking an Employee Transportation Operations General Manager. This person oversees the development, implementation, and management of transportation services designed to safely, reliably and comfortably transport employees to and from company locations. This role involves strategic planning, operational oversight, budgeting, staff management, and compliance with safety regulations. The General Manager will ensure that transportation services meet organizational needs while maximizing cost-effectiveness and service quality and culture standards of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Development :
  • Develop and implement strategies for employee transportation that align with company goals and employee needs.
  • Analyze current transportation services and identify opportunities for optimization, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with other departments (maintenance, and Operations) to ensure seamless integration with overall company logistics.
  • Strong project management skills


Operations Management :
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the employee transportation program, including scheduling, route planning, and vehicle management.
  • Manage a fleet of company-owned or contracted vehicles, ensuring all vehicles are maintained and operational.
  • Ensure the transportation service meets punctuality, safety, and employee satisfaction standards.

Budget Management :
  • Develop and manage the transportation budget, ensuring operations are cost-effective and within allocated financial resources.
  • Monitor and control transportation expenses, including vehicle maintenance, fuel costs, and employee travel reimbursements.


Compliance & Safety :
  • Ensure all transportation operations comply with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
  • Implement and maintain safety protocols and regular vehicle inspections to prevent accidents and minimize risk.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and compliance standards to maintain a high level of operational efficiency.
  • Drive to ensure all safety standards for NTA/DOT remain complaint


Team Leadership :
  • Manage and mentor a team of transportation personnel, including drivers, logistics coordinators, and maintenance staff.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to staff to improve service quality and ensure safety standards.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and foster a culture of continuous improvement.


Customer Management :
    • Manage relationships with key customers
    • Participate and drive quarterly QBR's for customer
    • Ensure operation meets performance and safety standards and are aligned with the company's values and requirements.


Employee Communication & Support :
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to transportation services.
  • Develop and communicate transportation policies, schedules, and updates to employees.
  • Collect and analyze employee feedback to improve the overall transportation experience.
  • Responsible for identifying recruitment needs, driving retention and management of driving, dispatch and maintenance staff.
  • Ability to connect, diffuse and resolve difficult situations


Technology & Data Analysis :
  • Leverage transportation management software (TMS) to track vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and employee ridership data.
  • Use data analytics to optimize routes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.


Work Conditions:

  • Full-time
  • Monthly travel to company locations or vendor sites may be required.
  • Flexible working hours depending on operational needs.
