Job Description

chromalloy is hiring a Machining - Grinding - Machinist 3rd shift in Carson City, NV. This is a full-time position, and paying $23.46–$36.85/hour.

We're looking for a skilled Machinist to set up and operate CNC equipment used to manufacture and repair critical aerospace components. This is a hands-on role where precision, quality, and attention to detail matter. Shift: Primarily Monday-Friday (schedule flexibility required; days and hours may vary based on business needs, including weekends) | 10: 30 PM-7: 00 AM
Shift Differential: $2-$4/hour based on assigned workdays
Sign-On Bonus: $1, 000

What You'll Do:

  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and grinders
  • Manufacture and repair precision aerospace components to tight tolerances
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings
  • Set up tooling, fixtures, and materials
  • Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and other precision measuring tools
  • Adjust tooling, feeds, and speeds as needed to maintain quality standards
  • Complete required inspection and production documentation
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and operate overhead cranes as needed
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
  • Support continuous improvement and productivity initiatives

What We're Looking For:

  • CNC machining experience, preferably in aerospace or other regulated manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD& T
  • Experience using precision measuring and inspection tools
  • Strong math, problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining quality standards
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused
  • Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Manual machining or component repair experience
  • CNC program editing experience
  • Trade school, technical training, or related certifications
