What will you do

A rare opportunity exists for a well-rounded and experienced CFO to lead, mentor, develop and drive engagement and strategic direction of a full functioning finance team, as well as oversee and manage the Financial, Accounting, Insurance, Taxation, internal controls and auditing for Vinidex. In addition to financial oversight, you will also serve as the Director for the company’s corporate entities

To be successful, you have worked in large ASX, Australian or Global manufacturing businesses that are fast moving, complex, have experience leading a large finance team, and looking for an opportunity where you enjoy being autonomous, flexible, hands-on, and adaptable to drive change.

In this Sydney based role, you will partner closely with the CEO and be a key member of the Executive Team, providing advisory support and financial guidance on key strategic decisions that maximise business results and shareholder value.


Your day to day includes but is not limited to:

Finance Operations, People Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, coach, mentor and develop direct reports to ensure a stable and skilled team capable of consistently delivering the required outputs.

  • Responsible for the effective oversight and management of the Financial, Accounting, Insurance, Taxation, internal control and auditing for Vinidex

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Provide commercial advice and insight on all finance-related matters in other functions of the business (sales and marketing, operation, logistics, procurement and materials management).

  • Ensure appropriate resource allocation and processes to deliver timely and accurate reporting to internal and external parties.

  • Establish effective financial controls, implement appropriate management accounting, reporting and risk management systems, budgetary controls and expenditure procedures, signing off changes in pricing


Budget & Forecasting

  • Develop financial business plans and budgets, monitor financial projections against actual results, and collaborate with colleagues to identify opportunities to continuously improve performance.

  • Manage annual and ongoing business/budget planning to ensure plans are delivered in a timely and pragmatic format in support of VINIDEX business units

Compliance and Governance

  • Establish and manage safeguards to the security, integrity and reliability of data and master data.

  • Regulatory compliance (ASIC)

Business Strategy and Partnerships

  • Develop and manage financing strategies, negotiations, relationships, and activities.

  • Provide commercial advice and insight on all finance-related matters in other functions of the business (sales and marketing, operation, logistics, procurement and materials management)


About you

  • You will have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field) and are a certified Chartered Accountant or CPA. MBA (advantageous)

  • 15 + years broad financial experience in senior financial roles encompassing financial accounting & management accounting, with 5 years demonstrated experience, in a hands-on financial leadership role within Manufacturing, FMCG (Plastics, Building Products, Hardware or FMCG – highly considered)

  • Experience leading, mentoring and coaching a full functioning finance team with a solutions approach and exceptional problem-solving skills to resolve challenges.

  • Experience using SAP would be an advantage.

  • Strong analytical skills, with excellent financial and commercial acumen and ability to translate data into actionable insights.

  • Demonstrated team player with a collaborative style who is positive, resilient, able to initiate change and is a strategic thinker with the ability to build strategic business plans and lead the team to get the best results.

  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with key stakeholders including internal customers, leadership team, vendors and customers, to influence and negotiate to get the best outcome.

  • Excellent with time management, and coordination skills, have a sense of urgency, results focused, with high attention to detail and analytical mindset.

  • Like to stay one step ahead by keeping up with current market trends, historical data, and competitive landscape to make informed business decisions.

  • Prepared to travel nationally/globally from time to time as required.
