The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Regional Sales Manager to join the national sales leadership team. You are a sales superstar with strong people leadership and will bring energy to the role and focus on our sales growth initiatives, whilst demonstrating our values aligned to providing quality and service in all that we do.

About the role:


Reporting to the General Manager Sales, you will be responsible for leading and growing the VIC/TAS market within the rural, agriculture, irrigation and plumbing segments. You will champion commercial excellence including managing revenue, profit targets and strategic direction at the regional level. You will easily establish and maintain customer relationships, able to mentor and drive a small team to success, as well as collaborate effectively with teams across Philmac, to ensure opportunities are translated into actions and results to delight the customer.

In addition to the sales management responsibilities the successful candidate will also be required to personally manage some key customers whilst facilitating activities in the region, including regular product training, merchandising, and business development activities (such as end user seminars & specification) at the account level.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Support a safety-first culture to achieve the best possible standards of workplace safety

  • Proactively drive the agreed sales growth & margin improvement objectives

  • Territory Management for some specific key customers

  • Manage regional trading agreement and implement effective customers sales strategies

  • Create a high-performance team culture which supports collaboration

  • Relevant sales segment input into the annual budgeting process

  • Implement sales strategies to differentiate Philmac and support trading relationships

  • Establish and maintain influential internal and external customer relationships

About you:

To be successful in this role you will take pride in the way you achieve results and also possess:

  • 3- 5 years of Sales Management or senior Territory Management experience, ideally with recent sales experience within rural, irrigation, agriculture, plumbing, hardware, trade, water or distribution segments (preferred)

  • Demonstrated commercial and financial acumen to drive strong results, with a customer centric mindset

  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with key internal stakeholders across the business, customers and industrial alliances, to influence and negotiate to get the best result.

  • Existing customer relationships within the core market segments in the Victorian and Tasmanian markets would be advantageous

  • Ability to develop and maintain influential relationships with our customers and internal stakeholders

  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and flexible to travel regionally greater than 30% of the time
