Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Sales Director, the Account Director (Coles) is responsible for leading the commercial relationship with Coles in the Australian market.
You will step change our relationship, understanding, support and performance with Coles, while enrolling the total organisation in the path forward to win with this key account.

This is a critical people leadership role, you will be the driving force behind your team, leading, inspiring and developing capability that will see them execute effectively on strategic initiatives, and deliver best in class execution to deliver win/win outcomes.

The position may be based either in Sydney or Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, and implement our strategic plan for the Coles with a focus on the 12mth commercial plan

  • Develop a differentiated Joint Business Plan to deliver a 'win-win' outcome and deliver combined objectives

  • Deliver sales & market share objectives by brand and category

  • Lead, mentor and motivate the sales team to achieve and meet KPI's, promoting a culture of high performance and accountability

  • Achieve sales and profit revenue budgets for the Coles portfolio with a focus on profit delivery

  • Lead and inspire the Coles Grocery Team and key priority customers to drive excellence in execution.

  • Lead the team and work cross functionally with marketing, customer and supply teams to ensure planning targets can be reached

About You:

  • Proven sales leadership experience in FMCG sales, with experience working with Coles, Woolworths or equivalent sizeable grocery brands

  • You are a self-starter and your natural affinity for building and maintaining collaborative partnerships to achieve desired outcomes, with a proven track record of success and confident utilising financial data and insights to understand the implications of business decisions on both KCA’s and the Customer P& Ls to build and grow business

  • You are a great communicator and not afraid to influence and engage Senior Management to drive decision making and desired outcomes. Most importantly, you are a people person, with the ability to contribute and thrive in a high performing, fast paced team

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and challenge customer decision with tact and diplomacy

  • Customer obsessed with a passion for insight led actions
