THE OPPORTUNITY

The Professional Education and Development Associate will be leading and executing professional education & development strategies in line with country business objectives. The incumbent would also partner with internal and external key stakeholders to drive JJV’s Eye Health agenda in partnership with government institutions, Professional Associates, Optometry Academia, Universities and Eye Care Professionals. They would also build future capabilities to support business ambition and ensure the success of new product launches by supporting new product development programs, processes, clinical claims and ECP adoption program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and shape the eye health strategy, partnering with local Government, professional associations, Optometry Academy and Eye Care Professionals.
  • Lead, Develop and Execute Professional strategy in line with country overall business objectives.

  • Develop relevant education materials, tool kits, case studies, trials and ensure strong representation in professional publications along with independent speakers briefed to support new product launches.
  • Leading member of the local Copy Clearance process to ensure all technical/clinical information in Johnson & Johnson Vision materials are factually correct and claims are fully substantiated for both internal and external communications.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with Industry Associations, Academic Institutions, business owners, senior management, key customer accounts and key opinion leaders in shaping the professional environment and raising primary eyecare standards.
  • Lead, develop & recruit Professional Affairs Consultants to partner Eye Care Professionals and differentiate their practice through delivering best-in-class Eye Health Experience

ABOUT YOU

  • Preferred minimum education: Graduate or Post-graduate Degree in Optometry
  • Preferred related industry experience: Licensed optometry practitioner in Australia/New Zealand
  • Experience as a licensed optometrist in practice for 5 years.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the optometry industry in AUNZ or similar landscape is required.
  • Good understanding of Optometry, Ophthalmology profession, clinical practice experience is desirable
  • Able to develop and execute professional strategies that is aligned with country business objectives
  • Clinical understanding of Patient Eye Health Journey
  • People management skills – supervised and manage a team
  • Strong Key Stakeholder Management engagement across country and region – Develop and Maintain relationship
  • CL experienced Optometrist, Optician or Ophthalmologist
  • Clinic or Retail Experience Preferred
  • Advanced clinical/technical knowledge.
  • Budget management skills.
  • Strong ethics and objectivity
  • Outstanding presentation & training skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Competence in business/technical English (written and verbal)
