The Role

As part of our on-site Finance & Business Support team, you will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the hotel's financial operations and reporting.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance & Business Support, you will work closely with departments across the hotel, IHG shared services and external stakeholders to support strong financial performance and effective commercial decision-making.

Your Day to Day – Inspire Incredible

As our Accountant, you will:

  • Complete daily revenue reconciliation, financial reporting and audit balancing, ensuring accuracy and timely identification of variances.
  • Manage Accounts Payable processes, supplier reconciliations and payment run, working closely with hotel departments and IHG shared services.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial close, including journals, general ledger maintenance and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with payroll processing and analyse labour costs and productivity to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support internal controls, compliance and internal and external audit requirements in line with IHG standards.
  • Partner with department leaders to provide financial information and insights that support commercial performance and effective decision-making.
  • Work closely with the overseas BSC team and IHG Corporate Accounting to resolve financial queries and discrepancies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, efficiency and accuracy across the hotel.

What You Will Bring

You will be a highly organised and detail-focused finance professional with strong commercial acumen and a proactive approach to problem solving.

You will also have:

  • Minimum two years' experience in Finance or Accounting.
  • Qualifications in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with financial systems.
  • Experience with Opera, PeopleSoft or other hotel accounting systems will be highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of reconciliations, financial reporting and accounting processes.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hotel environment.
  • Full unrestricted Australian working rights.
