Description:

The Thredbo Water and Wastewater Manager is primarily responsible for assisting the Environmental Service Manager in driving continuous improvement and overseeing all functions of the Water and Wastewater operations by providing positive leadership and guidance within the Water and Wastewater department. You will be required to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the WTP operations, leading the team in completing required maintenance and inspections.


About the role

  • Ensure that the WTP operation inspections and maintenance are undertaken daily, periodic testing and sample collections for the Environment Protection Authority licence as required, meter readings and all hour meter readings are recorded and entered appropriately
  • Manage and coordinate the scheduled cleaning of the WTP equipment
  • Manage the inspections and maintenance of all domestic and fire water supply storage tanks / inlets / pump stations and assist in carrying out minor maintenance works where required
  • Assist the Environmental Services Manager in managing the cost control of the water and wastewater operation
  • Assist the environmental services department in duties related to village infrastructure
  • Monitor the protection of the environment where it relates to the WTP and water supply


Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III Water & Waste Water or equivalent recognised qualification
  • Experience in SCADA operated WTP’s
  • Current driver’s licence, Class LR
  • Strong communication skills and conflict resolution skills
  • Previous experience and/or appropriate level of training in supervising others
  • Strong customer service knowledge
  • Five years in a senior plant operator role
