EVT is hiring!

Description:

Become part of EVT, one of Australasia’s market-leading experience creators, offering careers that can take you wherever you want to go across entertainment, ventures, and travel. In a world of cookie cutter experiences, here at EVT we believe in changing the game. It’s why we all call ourselves Daymakers - because each day is a chance to add the wow factor for our customers and continually grow in our own careers.

About EVT:
EVT has an endless range of roles and careers paths to explore across over 140 entertainment experiences like Event Cinemas and Moonlight Cinemas, 150 award winning restaurants and bars, and 80+ hotels, including QT, Rydges, Atura, LyLo, Independent Collection and Australia’s most loved year round alpine resort, Thredbo. Our ventures include a ~$2.3B property portfolio and hotel management, just to name a few. Once you’re in, there’s no limits on where your career could take you.

Position Overview:

This role exists to lead volume recruitment campaigns end-to-end, with a particular focus on designing and delivering assessment centres and assessment days as the primary selection method. This individual will be the single point of accountability for the programme’s success, working through our existing Talent Acquisition team and leveraging People & Culture Business Partners as trained assessors.

This person will bring discipline, deep experience in volume recruitment, and the foresight to build a robust, scalable process from day one.

Key Accountabilities

Programme Design & Planning

  • Design the end-to-end recruitment and assessment strategy for ~500 hires across entry-level, supervisory, and leadership roles.
  • Build the full programme plan working backwards from the go-live / opening date, including sourcing timelines, assessment centre calendar, offer windows, and onboarding handover milestones.
  • Develop (or adapt) a competency framework for each role tier that assessment exercises will be designed against.
  • Design bespoke assessment centre formats for each level: half-day practical sessions for entry-level; full-day leadership-focused days for supervisors; intensive strategic assessments for senior roles.
  • Create all assessment materials: role plays, group exercises, in-tray/e-tray scenarios, situational judgement tests, structured interview guides, and scoring matrices (ORCE-based, behaviourally anchored rating scales).
  • Configure the ATS workflow and candidate communications for high-volume throughput.
  • Liaise with local government Workforce Australia groups and buid relationships to generate community driven recruitment initiatives.

Assessment Centre Delivery

  • Own and run assessment days managing candidate flow, timetabling, venue logistics, and materials.
  • Personally facilitate assessment sessions, candidate briefings, exercise instructions, timekeeping, and post-session wash-up/calibration meetings.
  • Chair wash-up sessions to integrate assessor scores, resolve rating discrepancies using evidence-based discussion, and reach defensible hire/no-hire decisions.
  • Ensure candidate experience is exemplary at every touchpoint — treat every candidate as a future guest.

Assessor Development & Leadership

  • Train assessors using the ORCE method (Observe, Record, Classify, Evaluate), including calibration exercises with pre-recorded scenarios.
  • Create and manage the assessor rotation schedule.
  • Provide weekly progress briefings to the Group Head of TA, Steernig Groups and jey stakeholders, including pipeline dashboards, conversion rates, risk flags, and resourcing forecasts.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Monitor assessment quality through inter-rater reliability checks, regular assessor recalibration, and exercise effectiveness reviews.
  • Track and report on adverse impact data across protected characteristics monthly, applying the four-fifths rule and recommending adjustments where needed.
  • Ensure all processes comply with relevant employment legislation (Fair Work Act, anti-discrimination law) and that reasonable adjustments are offered to candidates with disability.

Continuous Improvement

  • Track key metrics weekly: applications per role, screen-to-assessment conversion, assessment pass rates, offer acceptance rates, time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, and candidate satisfaction.
  • Iterate on exercise design and process based on data — if a particular exercise isn’t differentiating, replace it; if no-show rates spike, adjust the invitation strategy.
  • Capture lessons learned and build a playbook that the organisation can reuse for future volume recruitment campaigns.

Ad Hoc Talent Acquisition Duties

  • Support peers with overflow activities such as requisition generation, job postings and contract generation.
  • Lend expertise to frontline recruitment activities spanning the whole of the Hotels & Resorts division for Australia, New Zealand and SE Asia.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent experience), preferred but not essential.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in high volume talent acquisition, preferably in an internal or corporate setting.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, Dayforce, SAP SuccessFactors, etc.).
  • Successful Talent Acquisition Project Management experience, managing end to end volume campaigns with clear goals and metrics.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret recruitment data and trends.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A collaborative mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional service to internal stakeholders.

Benefits & Perks :
• Incredible team member discounts from your first day on-the-job.
• 50% off stays at EVT hotels – Rydges, QT, Atura, Lylo and more.
• $2 movie tickets, plus Moonlight, Gold Class, Candy Bar discounts and more.
