About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Assistant Night Manager to join our energetic night team. In this role you will assist with the night operations of the hotel and be responsible for creating a warm and personalised welcome experience for our guests overnight. In this role you will also step up to cover days off for the Night Manager - overseeing night operations, ensuring the general safety and security of guests, staff and the property is maintained at all times, you will be remunerated accordingly for your step up shifts.
The Assistant Night Manager plays a key role in delivering a seamless overnight guest experience within a resort environment. Responsible for supervising front office and night audit operations, the role ensures accurate revenue posting, completion of night audit procedures, and smooth handling of late arrivals, early departures, and reservations.
As a senior point of contact overnight, the Assistant Night Manager anticipates guest needs, manages enquiries and concerns with professionalism and care, and coordinates with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and Reservations to ensure resort facilities and accommodation are prepared to the highest standard. The role supports the Night Manager, supervises overnight team members, ensures compliance with resort policies, cashiering and safety procedures, and prepares the resort for the next day’s operations.
Skills and Experience
• Previous experience in a hotel or resort front office environment, preferably in a night audit, supervisory, or overnight leadership role
• Strong understanding of overnight hotel operations, including night audit, revenue posting, and cashiering procedures
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional guest service in a resort setting, with a calm and professional approach to resolving guest enquiries and complaints
• Experience supervising and supporting overnight staff, with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in revenue, accounts, and reports
• Working knowledge of hotel property management systems (PMS) and night audit processes
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with multiple departments including Housekeeping, Maintenance, Reservations, and Food & Beverage
• Ability to remain organised, reliable, and composed while working overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures and hotel operational policies
• Flexibility to assist across departments and adapt to the dynamic nature of a resort environment
• Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate or willingness to obtain
• First Aid Certificate or willingness to be trained
